Doug Farmer, Death - Family And Friends Mourns The Passing of Doug Farmer

The Jonesboro, Arkansas, community continues to remember Willow S. Searcy, whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating motorcycle accident on Sunday, June 1, 2025. At just 20 years old, Willow’s untimely passing left her family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken as they mourn the loss of a young woman whose future held so much promise.

According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of Flint Street and Nettleton Avenue in Jonesboro. Willow was riding as a passenger on a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by 28-year-old Thomas J. Haney.

Investigators reported that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Nettleton Avenue when it entered the intersection against a red traffic signal and collided with a northbound 2023 Chrysler. The force of the impact threw both the rider and passenger from the motorcycle. Despite the rapid response of emergency personnel, both Willow Searcy and Thomas Haney were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jonesboro Police Department later stated that an officer had attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the motorcycle shortly before the collision after observing traffic violations, including the absence of license tags. Authorities said the motorcycle failed to stop and continued through multiple intersections, at one point allegedly running another red light and nearly colliding with a separate vehicle. Officers discontinued the pursuit before the fatal crash occurred.

Following a review of surveillance footage, investigators determined the motorcycle entered the Flint Street intersection against a red light before colliding with the Chrysler. The driver of the other vehicle was not publicly identified. The intersection remained closed for nearly two hours while investigators documented the scene and cleared the roadway.

While the investigation focused on the events leading to the crash, those who knew Willow have chosen to remember the young woman she was rather than the tragedy that claimed her life. Her passing serves as a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly life can change and how deeply one life can impact so many others.

Family members, friends, and members of the Jonesboro community continue to grieve her loss while holding onto the memories they shared with her. Though her life ended far too soon, Willow’s memory lives on through the love she inspired, the friendships she formed, and the lasting impression she left on those fortunate enough to know her.

The accident remains under investigation as authorities continue reviewing all available evidence.

Heartfelt condolences are extended to the family and friends of Willow S. Searcy and Thomas J. Haney during this difficult time. May those mourning their loss find comfort in the support of their community and strength in the cherished memories they hold close.
